Marvelous Monday (and an apology)

Hola Amigos from the Internet!

Before we dive in, I owe you an apology – I fibbed about my age! Turns out, I'm still 39. The big 4-0 arrives next Thursday! Got a bit carried away with the calendar. Now, let's rewind and properly say hello.

Greetings from my cozy living room!

Picture this: I'm perched on our beloved Chesterfield couch, wrapped in fluffy blankets, with Ophelia, my faithful sidekick, as I sip on some delightful hot chocolate.

December brings the perfect excuse to light up the fireplace and indulge in hot toddies – what a treat!

Isn't December just enchanting? It wasn't always my favorite, but now I'm soaking up every moment.

Speaking of delightful things, let's chat about PRESENTS!

I've already received a few birthday gifts but I'm saving them for the big day. Treats for myself? You bet! A pair of earrings from Etsy is on its way, and I'll definitely show them off once they arrive.

I absolutely adore receiving gifts, but you know what I love even more? Giving them!

Whether it's for family, friends, or even Ophelia (yes, she gets random presents too!), I cherish expressing gratitude for their presence in my life.

Let me share with you some of the gifts you can snag from my collection for the holidays.

Recently, I completed the third painting in a series featuring hanging kitchen items – this time, it's the Hanging Enoki, also known as Winter Mushroom. Aren't they fascinating? I aimed for a deep, purple-red hue, and voilà! I captured exactly what I envisioned. These little mushrooms are a joy to behold.

But that's not all! I've just finished a painting that marks a milestone in my artistic journey. Entitled "The Bison, The Chair, and Ladder," this piece holds significant importance to me. It draws inspiration from Julio Cortázar's "Instructions on How to Climb a Ladder," the movie "Tideland," and the astounding artistry of Jean-Michel Basquiat. Rooted in daily life and mindful discoveries, it signifies a profound moment on my creative path.

While we're on the topic of presents and spirituality, let me recommend an incredible book – a compilation of beautiful emails written by Ishaya Monks to their (our) Teacher. A transformative read, revealing how Freedom, Unity, and Peace are not mere ideals but innate aspects of our being. It's a gift, indeed, for yourself or a cherished someone.

Speaking of presents,

our Friends Christmas Dinner last night was an absolute blast! We shared laughter, games, and a scrumptious dinner, topped off with a Secret Santa gift exchange. I received a beautiful book I've been eyeing.

Oh, and here's the website I've been using for years for our Secret Santa - simple and thrilling!

Do you exchange presents with your friends? How do you do it?

Thank you for sticking around till the end. Now, I must dash to finish this watercolor.

Grateful for your company on this marvelous Monday.

Wishing you the most splendid week!

Feel free to share this blog if you think someone else would enjoy it.

Happy Monday!

Love & Sparkles,

Ishani
