Carpe Diem your Monday

Hola amigos del Internet! And of course Happy Monday!!

Yaaaas, we start another week of our lives. Second week of our brand new year. And it’s that feeling of new what I love most of Mondays. I wish I could send you the smell of of the new. Maybe that way you might love Mondays as I do.

It’s like buying something new every week.
You start with a brand new ball of yarn, a bright white new canvas, a new bunch of vegetables, new everything. And it 'is for you to use it as you wish. That’s exciting!

I’m using this Monday mainly to celebrate Hubby. It’s his birthday today. Actually the end and beginning of the year is awesome for us, because it’s my birthday, then Christmas, then New Year, then Hubby’s birthday then my dad’s…and well it can go on like that lol, because we just love to celebrate.
Anyway, today we are celebrating his birthday and well, I won’t bored you with stories in how an amazing being he is. But the main topic today is his birthday.

If you are not celebrating a birthday or a graduation or nothing is marked in your calendar you can choose something to celebrate today. I do have a blog on celebrations Hubby and I made up during lockdown, it is here in case you want yo get inspired.

The point here is to recognize we are not victims of Mondays. But we can male out of this wonderful day whatever we want. I usually want something magical and creative.

How would you love your Mondays to be? Maybe full of art too? Magic, wonders, nature, exercise, cleaning, writing, making music…? You name it.

And be already grateful for it, grateful for it’s coming in your way.

I’m already grateful for snow. We haven’t had any yet. But I can see it in the mountain, so I’m already into the gratitude vibe. Whatever the outcome is you will be already experiencing gratitude, and gratitude leads to love and that is basically a pretty cool happiness, isn’t it?

It’s worth trying! And just keep going.

Talking about keeping it going, I keep painting my new Green Era project.
I already started painting number 2. This one is about feeling alone. And being alone has never been an issue to me. I’m not lonely, I just love to be alone. I enjoy my time, the silence, the cozy space without distractions.

But this painting talks about another feeling of being alone. And that feeling was triggered the first time I went skiing. I was clueless and I was learning, but at some point I was left alone. It started snowing, the wind was strong, I couldn’t even walk, I felt abandoned. I wasn’t. Nothing happened, no one abandoned me, it wasn’t personal, it was not real. But the feeling felt genuine. And this new painting it’s about feeling alone but being all one. You see the word game?

Here’s a sneak peek of the process:

Part of the Green Project includes polaroids.
Let me share one of the polaroids for this specific painting:

The inspiration of the polar bear of course came from the snow, but mainly from a calendar my mom gave to me last year. Calendars are my mom’s energy accompanying me, even though we live so far form each ohter. So in that moment of loneliness, through the snow, she was with me.

And talking about mom energies, I always sew Ophelia’s toys and I thought I might like the sewing thing, but I got confused and I started a blanket / scarf / piece of yarn with a thing called loom. I used it once a million years ago and I thought I would like it this time again but a) it wasn’t really my desire, I confused sewing with knitting and b) nope, I don’t like it this time.

So I’ll go to Michael’s or some place like that and I’ll buy a sewing kit or whatever those beautiful circled pieces of wood with a cloth are called.

I’ll show you if I manage to make it.

That will be it for this beautiful, rainy Monday my friends.

And last but not least, our

To do: Yes, I know I didn’t enjoyed much the loom thing, BUT i did once. And I honestly think is very therapeutic. Here’s the tutorial I started from scratch 6 times before achieving anything.

To drink: I’m obsessed with Clamato. And while in Mexico it is pretty common, here in the US not much, at least not here in the PNW. You can buy it the super market or Amazon, add some lime, salt, frost it with Tajin if you feel Mexican today or everyday lol, Tabasco if you love it like me, throw some ice cubes and enjoy the most amazing, lemoney, spicy, perfect, heavenly drink, I know the weather is cold, but hey, we’ve meet people colder than ice uh?

To buy: Blick is having its Winter Sale and it is really really good. We went there on Sunday and i got a few wonders for my new Green Era Project.

To eat: Either you go to your Mexican store or our friend Mr. Amazon, you need to try Panchos. Because in this blog we are so into spicy sweet lol. Panchos are orange sweet gummies, covered on chili powder. I know. A friend’s daughter try another Mexican candy and she didn’t like it, at the end she asked, who would want spicy chili in their candy? Well my friend………

To cook: I’m making this, I’ll let you know how it taste but I drooled during the video. And also, it might work after all the clamato and panchos lol.

I hope you guys are enjoying this beautiful, brand new Monday and squeeze it as much as you can and Carpe Diem It!!

All my

Love & Sparkles
