Winter Monday

Hola, amigos!

Welcome to another Monday in our lives—the first Monday of 2025. Though, the other day, I found myself thinking: time makes no sense. I know, I know—maybe that’s a bit much for the start of a new year.
But 2025? We’ve been here far longer than that! We are older, wiser, and full of beliefs we’ve been handed over the years. We’ve bought into the idea of linear time. We’ve believed we’re broken and in need of repair. We’ve told ourselves we need to change, struggle, and make big efforts to be worthy. We’ve believed it all.

I’m not pointing fingers—this is more about humankind as a whole…and me. Since I was a kid, I knew there was more. Then I forgot. Then I remembered. And forgot again.

But now? Now is the time. Call it 2025 or 4,540,000,000—the time is now. And it’s time to remember. Maybe you never forgot, and if so, that’s beautiful.

Beautiful like winter.

How’s your winter going? Here, it’s been dark. Not just poetically (although, maybe a little), but with a persistent lack of sunlight. I’ve been reminding myself to take Vitamin D because SAD is no joke. The absence of sunlight can really impact the molecules that help maintain normal serotonin levels.

Despite the darkness, I love winter. It feels like a cozy pause—a time to rest, reflect, and reset. Winter, to me, is like a long, cosmic hug. Resting, though? It’s not exactly my strong suit. But I’m learning.

For now, today marks the return to regular activities—and that makes me happy. I have so many ideas and projects bubbling inside me. To bring them to life, I’ll need order, discipline, and a return to routines and habits. And I’m excited about that.

I hope you have an awesome Monday and a magical week—whether you call it 2025 or 4,540,000,000. The truth is, the moment is now. And in this moment, you deserve the best life.

Love & Sparkles,

📻 To listen: I’ve been wanting to immerse myself in music more, so I’m creating a playlist perfect for wandering through the crisp winter air, feeling snowflakes settle gently on our faces, and breathing in the frozen magic of this season.

📖 To read: As an elder millennial, I have a soft spot for blogs. If you’re anything like me and love discovering new writers, podcasters, or artists, you might enjoy exploring Substack. It’s a treasure trove of creativity and thoughtfulness.

📺 To watch: An oldie but a goodie—I picked up the term Elder Millennial from one of my absolute favorite comedians, Iliza Shlesinger. She’s such a powerhouse of wit and confidence.

🫖 To drink: This one’s simple but so satisfying. I’ve been ending my days with a warm cup of tea before bed, and my stomach feels so happy, cozy, and ready for a restful sleep. Lately, it’s been plain lavender tea—no milk, honey, or fancy additions. Just simple, soothing goodness. Next, I’m planning to try Ashwagandha tea.
