Monday Musings: Moving Houses, New Beginnings

Hello, art and Monday lovers!

Greetings from a new and cozy corner of my beloved tiny town.

This week, hubby, my little studio assistant Ophelia, and I were in the middle of moving houses—a process that is equal parts exhausting and exhilarating. Between packing up brushes, paints, and cherished memories, I’ve been reflecting on the idea of attachment in both life and art.

As artists, we often pour our hearts into each piece, yet we must be ready to release each creation, letting it find its own space in the world. The same applies to life: sometimes we need to let go to make room for new experiences, unburdened by what once was.

So here’s to all of us, whether we’re moving to a new home, a new canvas, or simply a new mindset. May we embrace the beauty in change and the fresh moment right before us.

Cheers, 🥂 Love & Sparkles

To drink: I love coffee. Some of you might know that. I just love it and I started drinking it around 2 yo. Yes, don’t judge. So I’ve developed a very defined taste for it. I’m not saying good, special, no presumptions here, I just happen to know what I like and what I don’t like in the coffee world. And I’ll jump to an unsolicited advice, drink what you like. The wine you like, the coffee you like, the tea you like…whatever taste good for you (obviously always taking care of yourself and others). This is my favorite coffee so far.

To understand: Oh mental health! This deserve a complete blog entry. So many of us haven’t even been treated for our conditions, and my generation and generations before me were very neglected in that area. Some are finally being treated and diagnosed and some others don’t. Whatever the case is, you might be (or not) aware of the symptoms in your life. You can be very aware of having anxiety attacks, or very aware of your autism, or very aware of your OCD, or whatever. And in fact we do need more people like that, more aware, more conscious people. Never invalidate someone's emotions, thoughts or point of view. It’s theirs. Not yours to judge. Shout out to my friends who are conscious and who go to therapy, take care of themselves, meditate, take care of themselves, respect themselves and respect others. You are such an inspiration.

To listen: Some of you know I’m not that into music. I don’t usually listen to music, no way I know what is trending nowadays. But I tried to listen to something different that my playlist. I discovered Stina Norndenstam, a Sweden, pop artist. I don;t know much about her, but I really enjoyed listening to her music.

To try: I love this quote so so much!

“You say that you love rain, but you open your umbrella when it rains. You say that you love the sun, but you find a shadow spot when the sun shines. You say that you love the wind, but you close your windows when wind blows. This is why I am afraid, you say that you love me too.”

so I opened the windows and felt the cold air in my skin, I walked under the rain and smiled, I walked in the cold dark night and all these experiences made my heart sing. You might want to try yours!
