Busy and Off Grid

Well, hi friend!

It’s been a little while uh? And it has something to do with the fact that we celebrated our anniversary by going to a tiny cabin in the woods with no internet or phone and I felt very comfortable being offline, but, you I needed to go back…for now.

I finally feel I’m settling down, and things are getting back to normal after all the emotional spiral that started last year. There are some loose ends that have me really focus on maintaining my peace as a priority though.

Anyway.
I taught the watercolor card class, I got two exhibitions, and another very exciting one coming soon. I will tell you more about it as soon as I know all the details. But I finished the piece for the show and I’m really content and proud of it, and excited to let people know what messages are showing in the painting.

I’ve also been painting some watercolor commissions, I have a doggy and a cat, which I usually don’t paint, but I’m an animal lover for sure.
So by painting these 4 legged buddies I got inspired to paint Ophelia, the princess of our little family. Now I’m in the process of taking a good photo to paint. I also asked hubby to shot some with his fancy camera, he’s amazing at taking photos.
I’m also painting 2 commissioned abstracts and a figurative painting of a girl with books. I loved that idea and I’m starting to sketch the whole piece.

I usually think I don’t do much, but now that I’m sharing with you, I realized, on more time that I do make a lot! It’s obviously an opportunity to be more appreciative with myself and of course to remind you to do it too. We all can be more gentle with ourselves and once and again, the best advice from me to me is to not compare myself with anyone else.

It actually doesn’t make sense.
We all are different (at least in this layer of life). We all have different timing because we experience different emotions, goals and purpose in our path. We need to help specific beings along our path and be guided by others.

So yeah,

I realized I do make a lot and what is most important to me: I do it wholehearted.

I also realized I thought I haven’t had a sketchbook like many other artists do, so I bought one and started it in the middle of the trees while watching Mount Adams.

Mount Adams. 2023
Known by Native American tribes as Pahto or Klickitat.

We have our 15th wedding anniversary and we celebrated by going to a tiny cabin in the woods.
There was no internet, no phone, no social media, not buzzing messages all day long…nope, just nature and us.
So I started my sketchbook there, painting the view while drinking my beloved coffee by the side of 2 loves of my life.

I decided I’ll treat this sketchbook in the lightest way I can.
I’m not caring if it is not planned, or if it doesn’t have a clear purpose. I’ll just draw or paint whatever topic arises, with whatever medium I have on hand. Just for the love of creating, for the love of art and the love of letting go any expectation. The artwork there won’t be commissions and they won’t have a plan. I will allow myself to do whatever despite I think is studied or well proportioned.

A few days after we came back home I found another sketchbook, which proofs I did already have one, but if you know me, you’ll know memory is not in my skillset.
I felt really happy to know I did have one and it’s drawn and painted.

I already started some experiments with acrylics but I haven’t nailed what I want to achieve.
I have a very specific idea on mind, so I’ll keep experimenting, meanwhile I have had so much fun and laughed a lot with it. I am totally enjoying it.

I have another experiment in the making, well, I’m still planning the logistics of it, but hopefully I’ll be able to show you soon.

Meanwhile, I wish you are enjoying whatever you are doing.
Hopefully you are not comparing yourself with anybody else.
I wish you are having the most amazing time of your life and I wish with all my heart, you and your loved ones are healthy and content.

Love & Sparkles,
