I hope you are well and cozy.

Oh it’s autumn and cozy it’s what I’m here for.
Well, not only in autumn but all the time. I mean, at some point I embraced my cozy / being alone mood and as I stopped judging it as boring the inner joy began, the contentment started to claim its rightful territory. And it feels so comfortable.

Here are three artsy exercises you can try (if you want to, of course lol) to get into the practice of accepting and loving yourself exactly as you are:

1. Self-Portrait in Reflection
-
Activity: Create a self-portrait, but instead of focusing on accuracy, capture the essence of how you feel in the moment. Use colors, shapes, and textures that reflect your emotions or inner state.
-Purpose: This is a meditative exercise in self-acceptance. By allowing your inner self to emerge on the canvas, you embrace your current feelings without judgment.
2. Intuitive Painting

Activity: Set up your paints and brushes, pencils, pens, chalk, whatever you have on hand, close your eyes, and take a few deep breaths. Without any specific plan or goal, begin painting, letting your hand move freely. Allow your instincts to guide your strokes and colors.
-Purpose: This activity encourages you to trust yourself and let go of the need for control. It teaches that art, like life, doesn’t need to be perfect to be beautiful.
3. Emotion-Color Mapping
-Activity: Pick a set of colors that represent different emotions to you—red for anger, blue for calm, yellow for happiness, etc. As you wish. Spend some time each day painting abstract shapes or forms based on how you’re feeling.
-Purpose: This exercise lets you explore and express your emotions visually, reminding you that all feelings are valid. It teaches you to accept both the light and dark within yourself, just as an artist works with a full range of colors.

  1. To watch: We are watching Snowpiercer, the tv show. I believe we watched a movie with this name and topic but I don’t remember quite well. Anyway, the tv show shows -again- the end of the world as we know it (I love those movies, series and books) and it shows you how people react when in stress or dangerous situations. It makes you wonder…

  2. To eat: I tried this tofu recipe and OMG, I love it, I think I’ll try it with buffalo sauce. Perfect for these NFL days.

  3. To drink: The other day I was feeling really bad and I remembered: Hot Toddies. You probably already know this recipe but maybe this is the your sign in order to have one in one of this cozy autumn nights. It makes you breath well again (if you are in the middle of a cold…or not)
