Amigos del Internet:
Yay! Another Monday and another Christmas… but do you know what they have in common?
They are both brand new.
I love how reminders to stay in the here and now are everywhere. Just the other day, I was walking Ophelia, and I saw this:
It was the perfect Christmassy reminder of innocence. It looked like it was drawn by a child, and it reminded me of how pure and unique their perspective is. And you know me—I believe everything is connected. In that moment, I thought of a scene from a TV show we just watched (check out the Weekly Treasures section). In a moment of despair, one of the characters says:
“This place is beautiful to me, even now. To see it with eyes as a child’s. There is wonder here, Captain.”
That resonated with me deeply. Kids see life through the lens of innocence, and that allows them to experience the world in its purest form. They see things as they are—raw and unfiltered—not as they’re “supposed” to be, shaped by layers of beliefs and judgments.
So, I wanted to share this with you, in case you feel inspired to approach these holidays with a sense of innocence. Brand new. Fresh. Without clinging to old ideas, judgments, or feelings.
I hope you have a brand-new experience with whoever you’re spending these days with.
I wish for you an innocent time, free of beliefs and filled with aliveness—magical days fully lived and a truly alive present moment.”
With love & Sparkles,
Ishani
To eat: OMG I can’t stop eating this salad (?) Is super fresh and I don’t even care is already cold here, I love it and I feel like a healthy person. Use the amounts of your preference. Cucumber, avocado, cilantro, squeezed lemon, onion, salt, pepper and cottage cheese…time to drool.
To girl-up: A friend recommended this hair mask and now it’s my time to pass the wisdom on. I’m taking a lot of care of my hair. I dyed it and went darker. So it’s a break of peroxide and time to care and give it more love. I really liked the hair mask and it smells lovey.
To watch: Ok, we made a pause of Eric, which I told you about last week, because I founded “The Terror”. No, it’s not a horror tv show. It’s the story of the Franklin’s Expedition in 1845 in which the British tried to find the Northwest Passage through Canada. It’s based on the novel of the same name by author Dan Simmons and based in a true story. And as I loved it I kept reading and investigating, here’s a video I think is fascinating, with more facts and data.
To organize: I organized my closet, because I believe it was messy for the lack of storage furniture. I had all these boxes but not a real place to put those on. So I bought this tv stand, because it was the perfect size and exactly what I needed. It worked perfectly! I think I would have done Marie Kondo quite content.
